Instructional Technology at BBS

Goal 4 on the 2012-2017 BBS Strategic Plan led the path for an enormous technology plan that rolled out in 2013:

“To create a smart campus through commitment to continuing it development for teachers, students, and the physical campus.”

Our campus is equipped with Wi-Fi providing high internet bandwidth to increase technology access opportunities for students. Further, our classrooms are equipped with new hardware including interactive whiteboards, document cameras and iPad trolleys. The availability of these resources however is not the outcome that we strive for. We continuously provide our teachers with continuous training from the Instructional Technology team, divisional IT coaches, and IT facilitators to ensure that teachers have the knowledge and skills necessary to utilize these resources to support student learning.

Our initiatives include:

  • Bring Your Own Device program at the school for grades 6-12.
  • Skoolee: A Data Management System that allows for bilingual usage and customization as per the school’s needs. Since its launch, the system has been used for attendance, gradebooks, report cards, HS elective course registration, health and discipline reports. A parent portal was launched which allows parents to view information relevant to their child.
  • Moodle has been adopted as the Learning Management System for grades 6 to 12.
