Welcome to Al-Bayan Bilingual Pre-School where we believe that each school day brings endless opportunities for exploration and discovery. We take great pride in providing an environment that is caring and nurturing and a place where our students can feel a strong sense of belonging.
The Pre-Nursery / Nursery program (Jabriya campus) is inspired by the internationally acclaimed Reggio-Emilia teaching philosophy created in Italy. We see children as inquisitive, active learners and understand that play is an ideal vehicle for fostering an inquiry approach to learning. Our Reggio-inspired curriculum is flexible and emerges from children's ideas, thoughts, and observations that stem from their natural curiosity for learning.
Our Kindergarten program design (Hawally campus) is play based to meet the needs of the whole child. Teachers collaborate to offer a fun, well balanced curriculum, that encourages students’ growth in physical, social-emotional, cognitive and language development.
This year as a school, we continue developing the Tribes mission: “To ensure the healthy development of every child so that each has the knowledge, skills and resiliency to be successful in a rapidly changing world." This process is known as “Tribes” and helps us to create a sense of “belonging” for our students. More information can be found under Parent Resources on the BBS website.
As the new Pre-School Principal, it is an honor for me to continue the rich traditions established here since the founding of BBS in 1977. I have been involved in education for more than 2O years, both as a classroom teacher and administrator. I feel very blessed to be working alongside such an amazing group of caring and talented educators who give their best every single day to make a difference in the lives of our students. For me, there is nothing more meaningful than this.
I come from the friendly state of Texas, USA. My credentials include a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education, an M.S. Degree in Educational Administration along with Educational Certificates that include: Principal EC-12, Elementary 1-8, and Special Education PK-12. (I value open communication between home and school; As a mother of two grown daughters I know the value and importance of positive communication between home and school.)
I look forward to a wonderful, exciting school year. Please know that you are always welcome to stop by if you have a question or a concern, as I have an open door policy. It is our goal to offer an exceptional education that provides a strong foundation for life-long learning. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child’s educational journey.
Always for children,
Ms. Anna Hutchison
I have personal ties to Kuwait and it’s children as I have lived and studied in Kuwait my whole life. I received my Bachelors of Science degree from Kuwait University. I joined BBS in 1991 as a Arabic Kindergarten teacher. After that, I lead the BBS Nursery program for many years as the Head of Nursery. I was promoted to the Pre-School Deputy Principal position in 2010 where I continue to focus on the Arabic Program in Nursery and Kindergarten.
Our Pre-School staff work hard to guide our children’s learning journey and fulfill the Founder’s vision and the School’s mission. We all strive to bring the best educational practice to lead the development of the child's: social, emotional, language and physical skills in both Arabic and English.
The Pre-School program is play based. Play evokes different skills in children such as exploration, problem solving, and creativity. As a Tribes school, we also focus on character education where mutual respect, attentive listening, the right to participate and appreciation are emphasized
A child’s success in school is built on mutual cooperation between home and school as well as the society. Please remember that our doors are always open. Let us work together to create the “BBS Learning Community”.
Best wishes for a successful school year!

It is with great pride that I serve our Early Years Campus in Jabriya where many wonders unfold. We believe that children deserve to learn and grow in a safe, caring and nurturing environment. Our dedicated team knows the value of each individual child, and provides meaningful explorations to promote children’s well-being and encourage learning in all domains while, at the same time, take advantage of key moments to instruct children in challenging ways. Our Pre-Nursery program is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to learning; each child seeks to realize their identity and make their voice heard. Nursery children explore via play-based learning centers coupled with a rich balanced literacy program. Character Education is a key component of learning, and we promote the Tribes philosophy and agreements which include attentive listening, the right to pass, mutual respect and appreciation.
I am Canadian and began my teaching career in 1989. I first came to Kuwait in 2001 to teach at Al-Bayan Bilingual School as a grade one teacher. After seven years in the south of France, where I was head teacher of the Early Years Program at Marseille Private International School, I returned to Al-Bayan in 2012.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Administration followed by a Bachelor of Education from the University of Ottawa, Canada. I completed a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Elementary Education at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. Then, in 2006, I graduated from West Virginia University, USA with a Master of Science in Physical Education and Teacher Education.
As Deputy Principal of Jabriya, I embrace both the challenges and successes of learning as I am surrounded by an outstanding team of educators, supportive parents and amazing children. I look forward to a Wonderful School Year!
